Private Home Senior Caregiver – Part‑Time Daytime Support (Fort Worth, TX)

Fort Worth, TX · Healthcare

About the Opportunity

  • One client, not a rotating caseload

  • A family that values caregivers and treats them with respect

  • A calm, structured environment

  • A chance to build a meaningful relationship

  • A home where caregiving is honored as meaningful work

Symmetry Resource Partners supports the recruiting and contractor payment process for this private household role. Caregivers are engaged as independent 1099 contractors through Symmetry.

The private family in Fort Worth is seeking a compassionate, experienced senior caregiver to support Grandma Gloria during the morning hours. This is a stable, relationship‑centered role with predictable hours, a safe environment, and a warm family culture.

This is not agency work. You will care for one client, build a real connection, and become part of a consistent daily routine.

About the Client

Grandma Gloria is a kind, gentle woman living with dementia, limited mobility, and reduced vision. She stabilizes well in the mornings and enjoys:

  • Light conversation
  • Reading on her tablet
  • Watching faith-based videos
  • Fresh air and sunshine
  • Short walks with her walker

Gloria eats independently and enjoys a consistent morning meal routine. She may need a gentle prompt to begin eating if she is watching a video. Whether you choose to eat with her or not, your presence provides companionship, reassurance, and attentive monitoring throughout the shift.

Your Role (What You’ll Do Each Morning)

1. Morning Meal Support

  • Prepare simple breakfast items such as fruit, oatmeal, protein shake.
  • Provide gentle prompts as needed
  • Offer warm companionship during meals

2. Full Bathroom Accompaniment

  • Escort Gloria safely to the bathroom every 2-hours
  • Provide direction and assistance as needed
  • Maintain dignity and privacy at all times

3. Bathing & Personal Care

  • Assist with bathing (safety‑first approach)
  • Support dressing and grooming
  • Ensure she feels comfortable, clean, and respected

4. Engagement & Cognitive Activities

We value caregivers who bring creativity and warmth to engagement. Activities include:

  • Reading with her
  • Watching religious videos together
  • Light games (checkers, Uno)
  • Gentle conversation as she becomes more talkative mid‑morning

You are encouraged to introduce simple, appropriate activities that support connection and stimulation.

5. Movement, Stretching & Light Self‑Massage

Gloria benefits from simple, guided movement and breathing work:

  • Seated leg raises
  • Arm lifts
  • Gentle stretching
  • Light self‑massage (legs, arms)
  • Rotating ankles, wrists, shoulders
  • Encouraging slow, healthy breathing

You do not need to be a PT — just familiar with simple, safe mobility routines.

6. Outdoor Time (Weather Permitting)

  • Supervised walk around the block with her walker
  • Sitting outside on the patio for fresh air and sunshine

7. Two‑Story Home and Stair Support

Gloria lives in a two‑story home. The caregiver will assist her on the stairs when needed, using a slow, safety‑first approach. She uses a walker, and the family provides clear guidance on her routine and preferred techniques. We welcome caregivers who are confident supporting stair transitions and maintaining a calm, steady presence during mobility tasks

Qualifications

  • Experience with dementia care (Required)
  • Someone who sees caregiving as a calling — a service of love, not just a job
  • Reliable transportation and consistent on-time attendance are a must.
  • Warm, personable, and patient
  • Skilled at gentle redirection and preserving dignity
  • Able to maintain calm in unexpected situations
  • Comfortable engaging in conversation and activities
  • Familiar with simple mobility exercises and breathing techniques

Interview & Onboarding Process

We follow a clear, respectful hiring process:

  1. Initial phone screen
  2. In‑person interview with family
  3. Reference check (professional references preferred)
  4. Multi‑state background check
  5. Onboarding and orientation in the home

We carry appropriate family liability insurance for in‑home care.
If you carry your own caregiver liability insurance, that is a plus but not required.

Part-Time Contractor Schedule and Compensation

  • Ideal schedule: Monday to Friday and occasional Sundays (8 AM to 1 PM target window)

  • Approximately 25 hours per week

  • Competitive independent contractor compensation — often 25–40% higher than agency rates

  • Stable, predictable rhythm with one consistent client

  • Safe, respectful household environment with clear expectations and warm family engagement
